Things You Need To Know

This is a brief description of what to expect at School of MAC. Upon sign up completion, you will receive an email with more specific information regarding your course.

How do the classes work?

Once you are registered, you will receive an email detailing specific instructions for your scheduled class including a link to the *REQUIRED* eCourse (If taking a license waiver course). Your eCourse must be completed prior to the first day of class. Motorcycles are provided for the training range. No matter your skill, in the Basic Rider's Course, everyone starts at the same level. Unless you have booked a private lesson, you will be training in a group environment. If you are taking a Basic Rider Course to obtain your motorcycle license, you must be successful on the skill assessment and the knowledge exam to obtain your motorcycle license waiver. 

Attendance, Scheduling and Cancellations

You must successfully complete all exercises before taking the skill and knowledge assessments. Tardiness and no-shows will result in disqualification from the course. The class schedule times are a guideline as extenuating circumstances may alter the listed times. If needed, rescheduling is allowed one time with a 7 day prior notice, based on availability. School of MAC reserves the right to cancel classes at any given time. Refunds for the class will be issued if we are unable to provide the course.

What type of motorcycle will I ride in the class?

School of MAC provides a two-wheeled fuel injected training motorcycle for all courses. The engine size ranges between 250 - 350 cc. 

What type of gear should I bring?

  • All courses require a DOT approved helmet. It is preferred that you bring your own, however we will provide one for you to use if available. (please bring a head covering/bandana to wear if you will be borrowing ours.

  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket

  • Long pants such as jeans or riding pants (free from holes)

  • Sturdy over the ankle shoes with good traction such as, ( hiking boots, riding sneakers, etc)* tip (try to avoid heeled boots or bulky foot wear such as steel toe)*

  • Full fingered gloves

  • Eye protection (sunglasses or prescription glasses will do if  your helmet does not have a visor)

Inclement Weather

  • We will ride in all weather conditions except the following: â€‹

    • Ice, sleet or snow​

    • Thunder and Lightening​

In other scenarios where riding is affects, class start times and durations may be adjusted. Your Rider Coach will inform you if any of these are necessary.

As always, watch the weather, dress appropriately and bring the necessary clothing or other items needed for your personal comfort. 

Under the age of 18? 

If you are under 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the beginning of the class to sign a waiver. *** Keep in mind that you must be 17 years old to obtain your motorcycle license in Georgia.*** After successful completion of the class, you will receive a 90 day license waiver, just be sure that you are or will be 17 years old before the 90 day waiver expires in order to receive a motorcycle license. How do I obtain my motorcycle license?

In the state of Georgia, you must pass a motorcycle skill assessment and a knowledge exam. You may go to any DDS location in Georgia to obtain your M endorsement. Here at School of MAC, the skill and knowledge assessment is administered to you in class, after you have successfully completed the required eCourse and all range exercises. Upon successful completion of the assessments, you will be given the 90 day M- endorsement/ license waiver certificate to take to the DDS to obtain your motorcycle license. ** The waiver is only valid for 90 days from the date provided to you.**  See Link for Georgia Motorcycle License Requirements: Class M Motorcycle License | Georgia Department of Driver Services 

Code of Conduct

School of MAC is a motorcycle training provider with an adult learning approach. You must know that all courses do not a guarantee safety or passing successfully. It is expected that you conduct yourselves in a manner that is respectful and courteous of all participants as this is a group learning environment. Safety is our primary objective. You will be dismissed by A Rider Coach for any of the following:

  • Any consumption of  alcohol or drugs before or during class time that can impair your judgment

  • Carrying any weapon on the training range or common area

  • Deliberate acts or intentions to harm yourself or others

  • Failure to follow the rider coach’s instructions

  • Purposely abusing or damaging equipment or motorcycles

  • Aggressive or unsafe riding that can result in injuries to yourself or others.
